ねむきゅん「魔法少女☆未満」 (2014)

Illustration done for Tune in Tokyo Presents 5th Anniversary Art Show & “YSTK” ‘Zine and CD Release Party to celebrate Jpop in Los Angeles.  

I wanted to do something for でんぱ組.inc’s sleepy mahoushoujo idol Yumemi Nemu because I relate to her – from being in art school & feeling out of place and frustrated, to wanting to become a magical girl to do your best and grow strong – it means a lot!  She’s the mahoushoujo I look up to, & will save us from frustrations at the end of the day; I wanted to emphasize that part of her. Nemu’s words, like the other members of dempagumi.inc, give me a lot of hope and happiness, & I want to try to spread that to others too. 

There was a time when I thought I was useless, but now I am doing all these fantastic things. I’m sure you can do it too! Let’s change the world! It might sound crazy but I think we can. I think that 99% of what you wish for can come true. If you have a dream that you can’t achieve on your own then let’s join up and make it happen. -Yumemi Nemu
