NAKATA Zine - Capsule (2013)

Spread for the YTSK ZINE, curated by Lorraine Grate + Ultranimbus, which revolves around the talented Yasutaka Nakata & his projects! 

I decided to do a spread of Capsule, because I found out about Nakata via Capsule.  

Plastic Girl was the first song I heard, and I fell in love with it’s Shibuya-kei sounds, and the video was charming, in style, and color.

Sometime later More More More came out & though the sound was different from Cutie Cinema Replay, I enjoyed it just as much. Once again, the colors and style caught my attention, with the use of CMYK - Jumper was the video I really liked.  

I decided to make a spread and juxtapose these two, because even though the styles have changed over time, they’re still both Capsule.  So, though they may not seem to be  connecting 100%, they do connect and belong together.  

It was also shown at Tune in Tokyo Presents 5th Anniversary Art Show & “YSTK” ‘Zine and CD Release Party at the Agit Gallery in Los Angeles, CA.
